What Is The Best Age To Start Learning The Guitar?
Am I Too Old To Start Playing?
I do not believe that age should stop anyone from learning the guitar or any other instrument. I have many mature students and have taught beginners who are starting in their 70’s. Everybody’s reasons and goals are different, learning music for all ages is an excellent way to have fun and exercise the brain. Recent studies have shown how learning music can lessen the affects of dementia later in life. https://www.theguardian.com/education/2016/oct/24/want-to-train-your-brain-forget-apps-learn-a-musical-instrument
What Is The Youngest Age You Teach / What Is The Best Age To Start?
To provide structured lessons and development I teach children from 5 years. There is no perfect age for your child to start. In my experience, children’s interest in playing guitar develops at different ages, as long as they enjoy the lessons, that practice, playing and listening to music, and very importantly like their teacher, they will be very successful students and ultimately have a skill for life.
Some young children find it hard to concentrate, especially after a days school. I usually provide weekly 30 minute lessons, however this is not always the case some children are fine with an hours tuition.
A free introductory lesson will identify the best schedule for the child. If you would like more information or to register for a free lesson, please contact be thought the form provided!
